The Goal: Restoring Form & Function

Dr. David Hubbell believes your smile can say a lot about you.

If your teeth are broken, worn down, cracked or otherwise badly damaged, restorative dentistry can help you attain the beautiful, healthy smile you always wanted. Unlike teeth whitening, restorative dentistry is not limited to cosmetic ends. Rather, restorative dentistry encompasses a wide variety of clinical treatments to restore broken down diseased teeth back to their proper form, function and esthetic qualities, replace missing teeth and restore proper occlusion (bite).

Restorative dentistry can range from restoring a single tooth to full mouth reconstruction and rehabilitation involving most or all of the patient's teeth, opening the patient's bite and reestablishing the patient's entire chewing motion to proper function. Restorative dentistry can achieve this through simple tooth recontouring or small direct restorations (fillings) to using a variety of indirect restorations such as inlays, onlays, crowns, fixed bridges, implant crowns, implant bridges and porcelain laminate veneers. Restorative dentistry can also utilize full dentures and removable partial dentures to replace missing teeth and restore proper form, function, esthetics and bite for patients.

The Colony and surrounding Texas area patients can expect to leave our office with not only the utmost in oral health but with a natural looking, glowing smile that will last for years to come.

Dental Crowns: Restoring Beauty and Strength

A crown is the perfect solution when damage to a tooth is more than can be remedied by fillings or other treatments. After shaping the remaining tooth material to form a solid base, a replacement top is created to look just like a natural tooth.

We often use dental crowns to restore beauty and strength to a tooth that has been weakened by decay, injury, or endodontic (root canal) therapy. Dental crowns are caps that fit over the entire tooth. The targeted tooth is prepared by removing damaged areas and shaping it to accommodate the dental crown. An impression of the prepared tooth is made so that the crown can be precisely crafted to fit snugly on the tooth. Once the crown is ready, it is cemented onto the tooth. At our practice in The Colony, Texas, we primarily use dental crowns as a restorative dentistry option; however, we also use them for aesthetic applications such as fixing minor misalignments and repairing cracks and discolorations.

With all-porcelain and all-ceramic dental crowns from The Colony Dentist, your smile will be strong and brilliant for years to come.

Dental Implants Restoration

A missing tooth is more than a simple cosmetic annoyance.  The gaps created by missing teeth can invite bacteria and infection, can compromise a patient’s ability to eat and speak correctly, and can allow adjacent teeth to shift their positioning.

If you are missing a tooth or teeth, it is important to fill the gap to prevent further damage to your mouth.  Dental implants maintained by The Colony Dentist are a superb restorative dentistry solution for our patients who are missing one or a number of teeth and would like worry-free restorations.

Unlike full or partial dentures, dental implants are permanently fixed in the mouth.  This means no messy gels, nightly soaks, or unpleasant odors associated with traditional dentures.  Dr. Hubbell can help you maintain the integrity and beauty of your smile for years to come with dental implants maintenance and restoration.

If you are interested in strengthening your smile with dental implants, the team at The Colony Dentist can refer you to a premier oral surgeon and dental implants specialist nearby in Dallas, Texas.

For comprehensive restorative dentistry solutions, you can count on us!
